Project Description
In early 2025, Advanced Sports Group completed a full natural-to-synthetic turf conversion at AdventHealth Stadium, home of the Rome Emperors, a Minor League Baseball affiliate in Rome, Georgia. This high-profile renovation transformed the playing surface into a state-of-the-art synthetic turf baseball field designed for performance, durability, and year-round playability.
This project involved removing the existing natural grass and reconstructing the field with a custom synthetic turf system engineered for professional-level play.
Key scopes of work included:
Full field excavation and grading
Advanced drainage and base system installation for optimal water management
Custom Shaw Sports Turf synthetic playing surface installation
Precision laser-grading for consistent performance across the field
By switching from natural grass to synthetic turf, the Rome Emperors gained:
Reduced maintenance costs and water usage
Improved field durability for high-volume usage and weather resistance
Consistent playability for both professional games and community events
Faster turnaround times between events, even after rain
This renovation not only enhances player safety and performance but also elevates the fan experience at AdventHealth Stadium—one of North Georgia’s premier sports venues. The new turf allows the Rome Emperors and community programs to enjoy a professional-grade surface all season long.
We’ve since done more work with Floyd County, including fields at Alto Park and Garden Lakes.
