Advanced Sports Group first partnered with Gilmer High School to transform an existing natural-grass baseball field into a shared synthetic-turf baseball and softball facility. The project made smart use of valuable flat space on the Ellijay campus while creating a durable, high-use surface for student-athletes.
That partnership continued when Gilmer High School asked our field builders to turf its new indoor training facility. Together, the outdoor field and indoor space give the Bobcats more room to practice, prepare, and compete throughout the year.
BEFORE
AFTER
LOCATION: Ellijay, GA
ORIGINAL PROJECT: Combined synthetic-turf baseball and softball field
FOLLOW-UP PROJECT: New indoor training facility turf installation
CAMPUS NEED: Make better use of limited flat land and create more usable athletic space
SCHEDULE: Outdoor field completed in 2024, indoor facility completed in 2026
At Gilmer High School, making the most of the campus starts with making the most of the space available.
In Ellijay, where the North Georgia terrain makes flat land especially valuable, the school saw an opportunity to turn an existing natural-grass baseball field into a more flexible home for both baseball and softball.
Advanced Sports Group completed the shared synthetic-turf field in 2024. The renovated facility created a durable surface designed for the demands of regular practices, games, and campus use while helping the school open space elsewhere for additional athletic opportunities.
The relationship did not end at the fence line. After seeing the value of the outdoor field, Gilmer High School brought our team back to turf its new indoor training facility. The finished indoor space gives athletes another place to work when the schedule, weather, or season calls for it.
Today, the outdoor field and indoor facility tell one connected story. They are practical investments in more usable training time, more flexible programming, and a campus built to support the Bobcats well beyond a single season.
